I am a teacher at heart! I began her journey in 1999 when I traveled to Brazil to teach in the favelas of Belo Horizonte. While there, I took my first yoga class. In a small studio funded by donations, I was lead through a relaxing and restorative yoga nidra and pranayama practice. Even in Portuguese, the message was universal: yoga opens pathways to compassion and relaxation – I was hooked!
Upon my returns to the US, I began studying and teaching early childhood education where I was able to integrate yogic philosophy and practice into working with children and teachers. My move to North Adams came in 2003, as did the continuation of my teacher training at MCLA and the introduction to Frog Lotus Studio. Finally my practice found a home.
Welcomed by a diverse family of instructors, enveloped by the picturesque surroundings and inspired by the fellow practitioners, I brought my practice to a new and exciting level. As my life and practice evolved from student to teacher, single-life to wife and mother, the FLY community offered strength, support and a continuation of adaptive practice.
In August 2014, my role once again shifted from student to teacher when I completed the 200 hour Frog Lotus Yoga teacher training. Inspired, motivated and elevated by the brilliant teachers, fellow students and guest instructors, I brought my personal practice to levels previously unmet and consciously to a level of expansiveness unimagined at the inception of my practice 15 years prior.
I continues to live my dreams as teacher in the community and an instructor at Frog Lotus Yoga. I am a life-long student, forever learning and expanding my practice and a proud member of the FLY family!
