I believe in the power of community and is so grateful to be part of one as exceptional as Frog Lotus! I aspire to be not only a teacher, but a lifetime student, seeking out knowledge and sharing with others the health and well-being that a safe, steady yoga practice and supportive community can bring.
A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, I spent over 20 years as a dancer, studying and teaching tap, ballet, jazz and hip hop. A lover of movement and fitness,I first discovered yoga while a student at Michigan State University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy. In 2006, my pursuit of a job as a social activist brought me to the beautiful Berkshires where I soon discovered the strong and vibrant yoga scene. Yoga began to weave its presence into my life more and more as I started to reap the benefits of a regular practice.
In 2013, with the support and encouragement of teachers, friends and family, I completed her 200 hour teacher training in Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga with Jennifer Yarro of Frog Lotus Yoga. Fortunately, Jennifer saw my potential and asked me to become part of the FLY staff, where I immediately felt I have found my “home away from home.” Recently, I also had the chance to study with Jennifer to become a practitioner of Thai Yoga Massage. I am honored to have the opportunity to share the ancient practice, which I incorporate into my weekly yoga classes.
I appreciate art and creativity in all forms, particularly music and dance, which has translated to a teaching style that is flowing and expressive. My style is rooted in those who came before me, but also offers insight into my nature and unique perspective of dance and life! In my free time, I can often be found hanging with family and friends, digging in my vegetable garden, traipsing through the woods, or cuddled up with my cat, and occasionally, breaking it down on a dance floor.
